Mercedes Baca Castex developed an early vocation for law and for the study of English and Spanish, which led her to pursue two university degrees simultaneously while beginning her professional career in intellectual property. She started practising in 2001, holding various roles and responsibilities that gave her a thorough understanding of the entire trademark process. She subsequently graduated with honours from the University of Buenos Aires School of Law as an attorney and sworn translator. She complemented her qualifications with ongoing training in civil and commercial law, including postgraduate courses in copyright law, and completed the INPI Agents' course, obtaining her license as a registered IP agent. Over 25 years, she worked in trademarks and domains at the highest professional level while continuing her independent practice as a sworn translator.

For more than two decades, she developed her practice at one of Argentina's leading intellectual property law firms, refining her skills in trademark registration and enforcement, participating in highly complex matters, and representing domestic and international clients.

She founded MBC with the firm purpose of offering a more personalised and accessible service without compromising the professional excellence that has defined her entire career. Today, MBC stands for trust, rigour, and results in intellectual property and legal translation.
